Akane Chiba (千葉 茜 Chiba Akane), also known as Onryō (怨霊), is a mysterious and dangerous Vigilante.
Appearance[]
Akane is a slim young woman, with pale white skin that possesses a deathly pallor. She stands at an average height, 5' 4" tall, and is generally considered quite unremarkable looking; as such, she blends in quite easily with a crowd. Akane's hair is black in color, worn long and straight, although it is often wild or covering her face. She has a number of odd idiosyncrasies; she has a scar over the bridge of her nose and right eyebrow, the sclera of her eyes are pitch black with glowing white irises, and the strange habit of holding her head cocked sideways.
Her civilian attire tends to be rather plain and unassuming, preferring long sleeves and other garments to cover her deathly pale skin; Akane takes care to wear sunglasses when going out, in order to conceal her distinctive eyes. When on the prowl as a Vigilante, however, she adorns herself in a costume: a tattered red kimono that has pink-white flower decorations and a red obi sash is wound tight around her waist. She wears a pair of geta sandals on her feet, although there are times where she may go barefoot. Overall, her appearance slightly resembles an oiran or geisha.

Akane was born in Kōfu, Yamanashi Prefecture.
Trivia[]
Akane's first name is the Japanese word for "deep red." Her surname, Chiba, is also the name of a city in Japan and literally means "thousand leaves." Her appearance, Quirk and Vigilante name are heavily inspired by the onryō, a type of vengeful, typically female, spirit. Onryō are popular in J-Horror, with notable examples coming from the Ring and Ju-On (The Grudge) franchises; Akane was heavily inspired by Sadako Yamamura and Kayako Saekei from those series, respectively. She was also heavily inspired, particularly her likeness, by the character of Hisako from the Killer Instinct video game series.
