The Amaterasu Family (天照 Amaterasu-ke?) is a family of Heroes, considered to be the first Quirk users in the history of Japan. One of their best known members is the Luminescent Baby (born from the Chinese branch of the family), with the family's current matriarch/patriarch/leaders of the Japanese branch being being Hana Amaterasu and her husband, Momotarō Amaterasu (né Yaoyorozu).
History[]
The Amaterasu Family was began by a member of the Yaoyorozu Family who was born out of wedlock to her father and her mother, who were not legally married. Kanae's parents were so ashamed of having her out of wedlock that they abandoned her in front of an orphanage. Subsequently, she was adopted by Aasu Tomioka and her younger sister Ageha Orimoto (née Tomioka), becoming their ward. After graduating from U.A High School, she became a Pro-Hero and eventually decided to make her own family. As she had not taken on the Tomioka surname, as a way to repay her adoptive older sisters - she presented them with the Amaterasu Family.
