Kasumi Midoriya (緑 かすみ, Midoriya Kasumi), also known as Blaze (ブレイズ Blaze), is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero and the older twin sister of Izuku Midoriya. She is one of the main protagonists of My Hero Academia.
Appearance[]
Kasumi is extremely identical to her younger twin brother Izuku, that people could barely note the difference between them, and is very short for her age, her round face framed by a short mess of fluffy dark green hair which sticks up at odd angles around her head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself.
Her eyes are large and somewhat circular, their irises the same green color as her hair, and usually stretched quite wide, giving her an innocent appearance.
She has a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek, but despite these prominent traits, she is often described by others as being plain-looking, much like her brother.
During her Junior High School days, she wore a plain black sailor fuku uniform that consisted of a blouse attached with a sailor-style collar and a pleated skirt. Her hair used to be long and curly that it reached her waist, but after graduation from junior high, she cut it short and became the same as Izuku.
While at home, she wore a plain light pink t-shirt and gray sweatpants.
At U.A., she wears the standard female uniform: gray blazer with blue-green stripes, a formal white shirt, red tie, blue-green pleated skirt, brown shoes, and black tights instead of the usual knee-high socks worn by her other female classmates.
Kasumi's original hero costume is exactly the same as Izuku but with a slight difference in color; a purple full-body jumpsuit with a dark blue belt, elbow pads, knee pads, and gloves, along with dark blue boots.
She also wears a mask with long ear-like protrusions that resembles All Might's haircut, and a respirator with a makeshift smile on it that also reflects that of the said hero.
Her second hero costume has a few changes and now looks sturdier and more combat-ready in appearance but still identical to her brother's.
The knee pads have been extended to her legs and reach up to her thighs, and her new gloves are tinted beige and are decorated with blue stripes.
Her respirator is now metal, diamond-shaped, and has eight holes. Kasumi goes without a mask in her second suit, and although the mask is still present, she doesn't wear it much.
Personality[]
Kasumi in her junior high school days
Kasumi is a seemingly cheerful, elegant, and friendly person with a seemingly perfect life. She also appears to be quite clumsy and careless.
Due to years of her brother being looked down by Katsuki Bakugo for lacking a Quirk, she has developed a big grudge and disliking towards him after the two of them were relatively close due to Kasumi's powerful Quirk.
She does blame herself to a great level for Izuku being Quirkless and thought many times that his life would be a lot easier if she was the Quirkless one instead of him, which indicates her great sense of sacrifice, selfless, and love for her younger twin brother.
So despite her supposedly cheerful and bold personality, she does feel depressed and became oddly quiet and distant from other people, especially Izuku, during her third year in junior high due to the constant bullying to her brother while she was being praised for her powers and promised of a good future as a Pro Hero.
However, after being accepted into U.A. High School, making new friends, and Izuku gaining One For All, her old clumsy and cheerful persona seemed gradual to come back and began becoming more mature and confident who's always willing to prove her worth as a hero and not lose to her brother, which combined with her passion and abilities, have turned her into a central figure within Class 1-A alongside Katsuki and Izuku.

Kasumi is a quite diligent and strong-willed student, being extremely enthusiastic about topics related to heroes, especially if it was All Might since she held a deep love and respect for him as a child much like Izuku, and the two of them used to share and trade his merchandise. She is a caring person and never hesitates to rescue someone in danger, even if she is aware that he might not be strong or qualified enough to do it. Often, she does this on instinct, taking a more careless approach than the usual overthinking she goes through.
Though back at their early childhood days and even during her first year at U.A., Kasumi used to be scared of Katsuki and would often prefer to stay away from him as much as possible but after maturing due to her time in U.A., she doesn't feel scared of him anymore and would challenge him physically if he ever crossed the line with her, her friends, or her brother.
Kasumi appears to have a more brash and abrasive side to her, which typically shows up when she finds himself in combat. This side of her makes her act more like Katsuki, being rather loud and unwavering, and also with a strong drive towards victory.

In reality, she is incredibly stressed out by the need for success, as many people have expressed high expectations of her due to her inheriting her father's Quirk, saying that she was the hope of her family since Izuku was Quirkless.
Kasumi is shown to be reserved and introverted since she suffered from a superiority complex towards her Quirkless younger brother, fueled by being helped throughout her life. As a result, she has no self-confidence or self-esteem at all and believed that if she wasn't the holder of her father's Quirk, her brother should have. It's heavily implied that the stress became a severe depression cause she tends to hide from her classmates and act cheerfully and childishly around them. However, after being encouraged by All Might and comes to terms with her powers, she fully recognizes Izuku as a role model and seeks to become like him in a much different and healthier way. She became a strong-willed and determined person who would face her problems head-on and would try her best to prove herself so that people would acknowledge her as her own person instead of simply as Izuku's sister.

Overall abilities: Kasumi is considered one of the strongest and most talented individuals of class 1-A, seemingly turning to a central figure in the class along with Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto. She's athletic in nature even if her body doesn't give that appeal, yet her limbs are very flexible that she's able to stretch her legs in 180 degrees. Her speed is remarkable too and she's able to perform hard and complex acrobatic moves due to her being an ex-rhythmic gymnast.
