An Ultimate Move (必殺技,Hissastu-waza?, lit. “Special Move (in a fighting game or martial arts)”) is a special technique that is performed when a Hero, Villain, or Vigilante uses their Quirk to turn the tide of battle and make a big impact on the opponent.

The function of any Ultimate Move is to provide an advantage to the user in hopes of them winning the battle. These techniques are usually unique to a person, and it should push the limits of one's Quirk to exploit the aptitude of a fighting style. Ultimate Moves do not have to be attacks, they simply must give the user an advantage over their opponent, such as with La Brava’s Lover Mode. Ultimate Moves can be offensive, defensive, or supplementary depending on the user's Quirk. It is also possible for people to combine Ultimate Moves together to create new moves such as Double Detroit Smash, which combines both Izuku Midoriya and Toshinori Yagi’s version of Detroit Smash.
